Aim and Scope

The Thailand Natural History Museum Journal (THNHMJ) is a journal publishing original research and review article in Natural Science. THNHMJ publishes papers including: taxonomy, biodiversity, checklist, biogeography, ecology, ethology, genetics, conservation and applied sciences. All manuscripts will be subjected to peer review before acceptance.

Types of Articles

All articles published in the THNHMJ must be based on rigorous and ethical research. The manuscript must not have been submitted elsewhere and has not presently been in process of publication by the other journals. THMHMJ published the following types of articles.

1. Original articles present original research findings in taxonomy, biodiversity, checklist, biogeography, ecology, ethology, genetics, conservation, and applied sciences. The original articles should present a clear research hypothesis, methodology, results and discussion, conclusion, as well as the implications and contributions of research findings. The total length of the manuscript, including references, table, and figure is not limited.

2. Review articles comprehensively review the existing literature on a specific topic in taxonomy, biodiversity, checklist, biogeography, ecology, ethology, genetics, conservation, and applied sciences. Review articles should critically analyze and synthesize the literature, identify knowledge gaps, and suggest future research directions. The format and length of review papers are more flexible than research articles. Typical reviews are less than 12,000 words, including references and figures.

Publication Frequency

The Thailand Natural History Museum Journal (ISSN 1686-770X) is published semi-annually (June and December) with 5–6 articles per issue by the Natural History Museum, National Science Museum Thailand.

Types of Peer Review

Transparent peer review

Review Process

When a manuscript is received by the Editor, he/she will have it reviewed by at least two peers qualified to evaluate the manuscript and he/she normally asks the reviewers to complete the review in three weeks. However, the reviewing process will normally take longer, depending on the length of the manuscript and reviewer's responses.

Publication Charges

The National Science Museum Thailand covers the costs of publishing in the Thailand Natural History Museum Journal. There is no cost to authors.
